  • Communication Between Teachers and Parents

Zakher Private School values communication with parents. The academic year begins with a parents’ orientation meeting. In this orientation, parents get answers to their specific questions and queries regarding Zakher School Al Ain’s curriculum, syllabus, and school calendar.
Zakher School Al Ain holds general meetings between parents and teachers three times during an academic year. In these meetings, parents and teachers discuss the status and progress of the student. If need be, the school welcomes parents to have individual consultations involving teachers and administrators.

    Parents and Teachers Association

The objective is to promote cooperation and support between parents and staff of the school in matters pertaining to the well-being of the school. For example; welcoming new parents, supporting school initiatives and events, promoting school spirit and supporting a holistic view of education.

Parents are encouraged to be involved in all areas of their child’s education.

    1.  Three conferences are held each year.  This year they will be held after the term exams .Flexibility in timing for Parent Teacher Conferences can be arranged.
    2.  Telephone conferences can be held, but they are by no means a substitute for a face-to-face meeting.
    3.  Parents need to be actively involved in their child’s homework.   Please check to see that HW brought home, is completed and as accurate as possible. If your child needs help, try to spend the time to help him/her. If you are unable to help your child, perhaps another member of your family can do so.   Homework is a continuation of school work.   If there are any questions about your child’s homework, feel free to write a note to his/her teacher.
    4.  Parents need to keep the communication between the school and home open.  Please be sure to inform the school of any changes in the home that may affect your child’s performance at school.
    5.  Parents can encourage appropriate behavior at home and in school. If your child is continually acting inappropriately in school, you can work with a team of professionals to develop a behavior management plan that will be consistent between the home and school.
    6.  Parents are urged to become active members of the PTA.  All parents and/ guardians are automatic members of the PTA.
    7. Parents are requested to complete the following forms and submit to the school.
    • Early pickup slips
    • Signed consent to photograph and videotape students for educational purposes
    • Medical forms with a listing of all immunization
    • Behavior referrals Discipline letter
    • Emergency Exit Card

Emergency contact information must be kept up to date. In the event of a medical or national emergency or school closing, we must be able to reach you or a family member. Please be sure to notify the school of any changes in address, phone number or emergency contact.

Remember, education should never be limited to just school hours. The valuable time spent time at home working with your child will help them meet his/her potential. Your child’s progress will depend upon the quality of the partnership between the home and school.
